PS5 becomes the first console in the United States with the highest monthly sales and sales

According to the data from the US statistical agency NPD, the Sony PS5 has become the highest-selling console in the history of the United States, exceeding the previous record set by the PS4.

NPD analyst Mat Piscatella explained:

In November, consumers spent a record $1.4 billion on gaming hardware, an increase of 58% compared to the same period last year. The growth was driven by the release of PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles. Hardware consumption so far this year has reached US$4 billion, an increase of 34% over a year ago.

The best-selling next-generation game console is the PS5, and if the supply can meet customer needs, sales may be even more. PS5 broke the PS4 record in November 2013, achieving the highest number of first-launched game consoles and sales in the United States. At the same time, Sony’s DualSense controller is also “the first monthly sales and sales of game controllers in the United States.”

Nintendo Switch performed very well in November, surpassing PS5 in sales, and became the best-selling hardware platform for 24 consecutive months. However, it is worth noting that the Nintendo Switch is priced at 299 US dollars and the Switch Lite is 199 US dollars; and the PS5 is the first in sales with an optical drive model of 499 US dollars and a digital model of 399 US dollars.

Thanks to next-generation consoles, game software sales are also considerable, which has jumped 32% compared to last year.
